We have the opportunity for everyone to be involved this fall as we “do church.” Because we’ll be gathering twice on Sundays (9:30 am and 6:00 pm), we’ll also need more people to be involved in running our services. This might be your chance to try something new! Or simply to roll up your sleeves and help out in some small way. Whatever way you choose to get involved, it’s a way of following Jesus by serving and loving your neighbor.
Below you’ll find a short description of some of the places we’ll need help this fall. Please consider where you might serve and respond to our church office (email@example.com) indicating your interest and availability.
Ushers: Arrive 15 minutes before the service, direct attendees to their assigned seating, dismiss pews after the service. Ushers are the friendly welcoming faces as we gather in our services. Training on procedures will be given.
Registration: Each Sunday assign seating to those who have pre-registered and then check off and greet people as they arrive for the service.
Sound Techs: Arrive when the song team arrives to go through songs before the service… and then make everything sound beautiful! You will be trained by a current sound tech.
Video Techs: Prepare and operate PowerPoint and other media elements in our service. You will be trained by a current video tech. [Note: this role may be shifting slightly as we begin recording our services. Let us know if you have video production or editing experience!]
Song Leaders: Assemble a song team, choose the songs to sing, and then lead our church family in a time in a time of worship in song during our Sunday services.
Musicians/Singers: Serve others by singing or playing an instrument on a song team.
Service Leaders: Give leadership to our gathering times, organizing the flow, highlighting announcements and inviting us into God’s presence as we worship.
Cleaning: After the morning service, we will need a few people to wipe down the pews, clean the upstairs bathroom and wipe down common foyer areas (railings, light switches…) so that areas of the building are cleaned for the evening service attendees. Diane Boldt, our janitor, will provide instructions and training. This might be a great way for your small group to work together.
Small Group Leaders: Small group leaders focus on building relationships with their group of kids. During class time leaders guide the kids through activities that help reinforce the bible lesson. All materials will be prepped for you. Leaders needed for age 2-grade 9. Commitment is every other Sunday between September & December (6 times).
Point Person: Be the central person to help small group leaders as questions arise, help coordinate bathroom breaks…etc.
Check In Desk: Welcome families and direct kids to the appropriate spaces. Check kids off in attendance program.
Prep work: Help 1-2 times a month prepping activities for small group leaders.
